Plot
The book “The Blinding Order” by Ismail Kadare, is a parable of the Ottoman Empire about the use of terror in authoritarian regimes. “The Blinding Order” mines Ottoman history for a chilling fable of inscrutable tyranny and collective surrender. Set during the Ottoman Empire’s reorganisation, is the stronger piece, delivering a story that is, on the surface, absurd but equally frightening.
